Carpmagic showed me these new stots i think they were called, a cross between Styles and shots that can be put on as easy as styles and slid very easily, has anyone tried them or seen them yet, they look very interesting.

They sound the biz, should be ideal as droppers on heavier line, where normal shot tends to ping off. Just waiting for my tackle shop to get some in.

As Steve said they are like a cross between styls and shot. very good splits and dont damage the line. Early impressions are that they look good, used them at whiteacres with no probs. very good for forming a bulk.

Drew next peg to Steve Saunders at Gwinear he showed me these new stots, also the new grey hydro. The stots looked awsome but not sure about the new hydro. Had some bad experience with the black ???First top i did in black about three years ago was exellent, soft enough for silvers but with enough reserve power for match carp. When i renewed the black early last year, not till i used it, i realised it was a little thicker and nowhere near as strechy as my first batch, result was bumping a lot of fish much to my cost! >:(Even sent daiwa a letter asking what the crack was. They sent another spool out to me but just as thick ,with no explanation! :oIs this new grey hydro a result of a manufacturing problem with the black hydro being to fierce? ?

I think the new grey hydro is what was termed thin black so it mite be what you are looking for!!

Thanks steve, think i will give it a go,costly learning curve that one as the fish i was loosing was at bolingey on the VDE,pulled out of a lot of fish after the initial connection on the strike.Dont they tear off there? A few points lost there!! :-/Watched you bag up on 45 mate an awsome perforemance ;)Hillarious when Tommy said you were going for the world record!I thought you were as well ;D ;D

Hydro varies in thickness depending on the batch you get.
Apparently Hydro in run off in long length batch's - the start & end of the batch are thinner than the middle length. From a persoanl point of view i've only noticed the diameter difference in the black ( last 3 spools i've bought have all been thinner ). I always open the pack & have a look to check the thickness.

The batches should be split off and sold seperate under different diameter sizes.Bad quallity control on the behalf of diawa i think.Glad its not just me thats noticed the difference.Swapped to preston hollo now which is great.

I'd guess it's coloured before the process that 's why they don't sell it off seperate. I'm trying Preston hollo at the min but i still prefer Hydro !!

From what i can gather they will be released in the next couple of weeks. I know they were shown to the shops at the recent tackle and guns show and orders were taken. So keep your eyes peeled!

They've had the stotz in my local shop yesterday, I've had some today to give them try. I got the 4 pack dispenser which has 8,9,10,11's in for £4.99 or they come separate for £1.40 a single pack. Not tried them yet but they do look good.
