I would just like to mention on behalf of myself and Eddie j that we are now both proud recipiants of Level 2 Certificates in Angling Coaching. Its a 1st 4sport qualification, " The award winning body for sport and recreation", in partnership with the Joint Angling Governing Bodies, those being the N.F.A, N.F.S.A and the Salmon and Trout Association. We can,t begin to tell you how it feels. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Let me stop you all before this goes any further. First of all you DONT have to be the "Best Angler, Footballer, Swimmer, Tennis player" etc to have the ability to coach someone. However there are many other qualities you DO require and you cant buy them from a shop or from the local news paper. Coaches are there to try to improve and enhance someone elses performance, "firstly in the safest way they can", there are many different ways of achieving this. There are No best ways or styles of Coaching. There are however Strict codes of conduct that do have to be adhered too. I hope this answers any further questions anyone might have.

Qualified as a PAA coach 5 years ago, cost me about £300, whilst as Dorsal said you dont need to be the best angler in the world you need to know how to do risk assesment, handle people differently, and how to communicate and get your point over in a manner that people can grasp and understand. You will never become rich out of it but it gives you a great deal of satisfaction putting something back into angling especially at a junior level. Only thing that put me of the PAA was that they made more money out of you each year by having to rejion yearly, seems to me once you have passed you have passed. Lot of internal politics put me of as well, can also be quiet clicky. Good luck lads.

I enquired about a lesson from a well known angler about ten years ago on the severn and he wanted £70 then.So do different coaches charge different prices or is there a guide line?
