Bought a new catty (vespe)used it for about 3 sessions,Shallow fishing pinging pellets. The elastic became very perished and worn by the pouch. To add insult to injury the netting on the pouch also pulled away from the plasic rim :(Had a Dennan deli catty before which lasted ages but the grouping was not as tight as the vespe. Also the pouch kept coming off the elastic when loose feeding, showering pellets everywhere over me and my peg! What catty would you reccomend for loose feeding pellets on the pole to 14.5m?Any one else had this problem?

I like the drennans, you need to find which pouch suits you for better grouping, iv been using the mesh pouch.

I use the drennans and superglue both ends of the laccy on, also there is a back and front to them so one way round will group the pellets and the other spreads them everywhere. I find out which is which and put a cut on the front so when you pick it up you can feel without looking if its the right way round

no problem, but like carpmagic, I use the drennan mesh pouches, again, superglued on the only problem is, when the laccy goes you have to buy a new catty, but I would sooner do that than have it come apart every 5th pouchfull.

I like the drennan ones, and they are ok until the laccy pulls off. I've tried gluing them but with not much success.I think its if you pull back too hard, so I'm trying out a thicker elastic at the moment, although it doesnt seem accurate enough. . The other problem with the thicker elastic one is that every time it catches the back of your hand and it starts to sting a bit after 5 hours of constant 'thwacking'

Rub some superglue over the mesh pouch and it stiffens em up a bit.

its called the Ezze-feed now, its quicker than a catty.Have put stronger laccy in it, fires farther now and is sound for pellets, caster, corn and small cubes of meat.

I had a Drennan until last Sunday , I dropped it in the shallows under my feet and attempting to recover it with my top kit managed to catapult it (now thats ironic ) further out into the lake. After my other disaster an Sunday I forgot to try to recover it at the end. Good news though I will have a nice shiney new one in about an hour ;D ;D ;D

Ridgeacre, what elastic did you put into your ezee-feeda as I have one but the elastic is all cracked and the distance is starting to suffer as its about 11m max for pellets nowadays used to be good upto 14m. So I need to replace the elastic and might as well put some stronger elastic in at the same time, also is it easy to replace the elastic on it?

Most of my catapults are bastardised Drennans. I use Drennan frames and elastics for the more delicate cattys, with trev tomlin pole king pouches (squatt, pinkie), or for hemp one of those old fold over leather oval pouch thingys :-D For my more distance catty I use a rigid cup, think it might be from an ancient silstar catty, with a drennan frame and thick pink drennan laccy.
I've used those ezzefeed things for hemp/caster on the nene, was just a phase though, soon fobbed it off to a mate!
Ramble over, LOL!
