When arriving at your peg how do you decide which lines to fish the pellet or the worm if both are the in baits. Why i ask is because i have a winter league at woodlands view and are not sure which bait to fish short and which long. The series will be fished on all pools and i am a bit unsure were to start.

To be honest I tend to fish worm long and pellet shorter, I seem to find the bites on worm easier to hit at range and pellet is a lot easier to feed short by hand, choppie gets messy One added point, on Arles I also like to fish worm right in the edge amongst the reeds looking for the Tench. As for which works better others may help more

One thing that MIGHT change my view would be if I thought I would be catching on the pellet shallow, in that case I might need to fish pellet long and choppie closer

A lot of places seem to have switched on to the worm recently, I know there are usually a few fish to be had on worm at Woodland View most of the time so it will be interesting to hear just how it competes with the pellet, maggot, meat or corn on the day .

Generally if i am fishing both baits i tend to fish worm long and pellet short. The reasons for this being is that the pellet is less likely to come off the hook short, i can thow in pellets by hand where as you dont feed choppy by hand, generally better fish are caught on pellet and the closer in you can catch them the more control you have over the larger fish. Hope this helps put some more fish in your net
