Right i've managed to get my new Pole selection down to a final 3.
G8 Power, Shimano Speedmaster AX or possibly a Maver m27.
I mainly fish far carp upto 8lb with the occasional lump to 15lb & Need it to be fishable at 16m.
I think i'm leaning towards the g8 as i think the Speedmaster might be a bit light for what i'm after & i'm not 100% confident with Maver. ( i have a maver Encounter !!! )
Anyone got any opinions ??

Personally if i was you i would wait just after the new year when all the tackle manufactures bring out there new range for 2006. This will mean that the poles you have mentioned will then be replaced with new stronger and lighter poles for the same money. This happens every year with technology getting better each year. Sorry if this will confuse you even more

Thanks hrh89.
I meant N27 not M27 - doh !!!!
The Shimano Speedmaster AX is a new 2006 pole ( Although it is out there to buy now ) - not sure how new the g8 power is !!!
I'm going to have to bite the bullett & get something as there's always new models coming out - what ever i pick they'll be something better & cheaper in 2 months time !!!

yeah true i just bought the champions choice pole 808 a old version but god its just as good as the new ones its probally as good idea to buy a quality second hand pole you cant go wrong with 4 match tops 5 power tops and a cupping kit 16m and 965 grms at full length and 5 spare 4th sections

I think you won't go far wrong with either the G8 or Speedmaster. I have had a play with the G8 and was suitably impressed ;D ;D

Thanks all for your help. I'm holding off now until i've had a look at the new Garbolino G796 or similar . But i'm pretty much 100% on owning the G8 power !!!
