Hello mate, where is your line snapping at the loops/knots or at the hook? ::)Have you tried looking at the way you tie your loops/knots by using a knot that dosn't strangle the line when tightend will de-crease weak spots? Also try fishing straight through to avoid weak spots on the rig.Try a different laccy combo with your rigs to see if it makes any differecnce?Bit of a tricky one but is it worth fishing heavier and waiting longer for bites safe in the knowledge that you are going to get these fish out and on the scales.Preston line shouldn't snap that easy as it is understated in diameter size so the line you think you are using may be a little heavier than you thaught. If all else fails try a new mainline,Silstar matchteam comes highly reccomended. But use a slightly thicker diameter in this line to compensate for the difference in diameter of the line you have previously been using before.Good luck hope this is of some help

I rarely go any less than 0.10 and have not found it detrimental to getting bites. Generally if you cant get a bite on 0.10 you arent getting one on 0.08 either as there prob arent any fish there.

i use 0.11 to 0.9 hooklength, both in powerline at the moment, attached to maver dual core 6-10. dont seem to lose many but they can take a while to get in...

if your using 0.08 power line its nearer 0.11 any way try just fihsing .10 straight through but use 1 where the diameters are right and breaking strains, i use preston precision while its cold. match it with a soft elastic aswell 1.2 latex or white hydro and take your time playing them you should land anything

oh and you might get more bites fihsin 0.08 but why bother if your loosing every fish you hook? fihsing heavier you might hook half as many but land every one so your still landing more fish and ending up with a bigger weight

If you use 0.10 try using smaller hooks if your not getting the bites. You can get away with 20's and 22's at this time of year. Try slacker elastic also. Its better to hook them and take your time getting them in as to loose them because your tackle isn't strong enough.

i've been using fox mircoplus+ line. think its really good.
over this winter time i've been using ethier 0.09mm (1lb 14oz) or 0.10 (2lb 9oz). i haven't really bothered with 0.08 as much cus not had trouble not getting bites.
i haven't been snapped once on these lines and i've used green, yellow bungee with it and also grey hydro and had not one problem.
i found it has a low diameter for a higher breaking strain than other lines which also aids u.
