been making some pellet wagglers out of balsa for fishing at distance but as I was making them I had an idea to make some small ones for pole fishing. They are about 2 inches long and take about 3-4 number 6 shot they are identicle to the bigger ones and was thinking of using them at 10-12 metres fishing shallow with 4-6 feet of line between the tip of the pole and float also probably using a back shot. Theory behind it is that it won't spook the fish as they will not see a pole dangling over their heads and the would feed comfortably. It would be like fishing the pellet waggler bottom only but on the pole, anyone think it will work...cheers
Alfie, I am sure on its day it will be a deadly method, ie. when the fish will not feed right under the pole, the weight will be OK to swing the rig out beyond the pole even in a slight breeze, I would however be going a bit lighter, most of my shallow dibbers would only take 1 x no 6. Main reasoning behind the lighter idea is if you are using the rig it will probably be on a "spooky" day anyway so heavier float might just be a bit too unnatural? The proof of the pudding though...................?
