well it was the final round today which was the rematch as it was called off last time.
3 of us turned up.
paul john me (CJA)
i ended up on the canal peg 23. had 2 spare pegs to me right and was next to bend so took advatage of this.
for the first 3 hours i put f1's, few some carp and ghost carp in the net. then the temperture dropped it and the fish turned off. i struggled in the last 2 hours. i put few small chub in me net and a lump. good sized commom carp.
i weighed in 23lb 4oz which gave me 2nd in my section and 9pts.
i caught all my fish on red/white maggot feeding few mircos and 2-3 maggots every put in. tried pellet but didn't get a bite.
sure john tell ya how he did.

sure john tell ya how he did. wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the capo came up trumps for me at the draw bag and guess what I blew it. I lost probably 20+ foul hooked fish, including lumps I managed to put a very poor 18lb on the scales and was battered by the angler on my left, that had a F1 every put in and weighed in 54lb. He was foul hooking a lot but managed to get them to the net, by fishing a light elastic. Me I fished grey hydro and suffered hook pulls even when I set it with 4 inch of laccy hanging loose, out of the pole.

John I would have thought that having 4 inches of laccy hanging out would have meant that you wernt setting the hook, my choice for smaller fish with the chance of bigger carp is Maver 12/20 which is soft enough to land skimmers on but more than capable of landing the lumps

nothing do with elastic hanging out cus all that is doing is making it softer on the strike so in theory should foul hook less prob was two many non feeding fish in front of you, which are mid water in the thermocline .only thing can do his hope they come in and keep coming shallower till bites slow up but come proper..thats all u can do
Forgot to say WELL DONE to my best mate CJA

Chris, great bread peg that, especially if they aint havin it proper. If the carp are there they will take a big bread punch, with, or without feed, they just love it. John, you dont say where you were , a good peg ? If they are being foul hooked, they are either off the bottom, or are shoaled up and aint hungry, me thinks they were off the bottom, coz thats where most heronbrook fish are caught. Well done for turning up and supporting us , who was angler no 3, was it scatty? and was he on meadow? Don't know where we ended up as a 'team' yet, but thanks to everyone who put in an appearance for us, just a pity we couldn't manage a full team for the last leg Once again, WELL DONE LADS

Well done lads John you finished second in your section You won the section by default So Neil has £60 waiting for you ;D Well done Chris, nice net of fish considering the conditions Paul confirmed to me today that he is the most unlucky angler I know Not only was he drawn on Meadow, but on a bad peg and it fished crap I managed to arrange for a fella to fill in your spare place, he scored 9 pts for you You finished about 10th on the day with 27 pts ;D
