Darren I drew end peg 31 which helped no end, most of my early fish were skimmers on pellet following a first put in carp, the margin to my left only produced one foul hooked carp, the margin to the right was either pellet or late on to corn, only got stuffed by a couple of Fosters sponsored men. I only found out that Ray Smith was an old mate of mine we were both Chairman of the same club as well as work mates, so it is nice that as far as the club is concerned I won his memorial match.

There were no Fosters sponsored guests in the frame. Of the 4 Mosella sponsored men who fished the match, 2 were FULL Civil Service Sports Council Members .They each brought a guest as is allowed. Didn't they do well!! PS to Brian. Didn't know you knew Ray. Like me he was a founder member of the angling section when the CSSC bought Elmdon.

Yes I knew Ray when he was at the Wolseley we worked on the same section when I was installing all the new machines for the old Austin / Morris 1100, Ray was the first Chairman of the Yardley Arms Angling Club and I took over from him, he was also a member of the Woseley Angling Section, for which we fished in the Angling Times Winter League. The Mosella men sure did do OK and I am more than happy that I saved the golden peg money and recorded a new personal best match weight.
