Evening all, am fishing makins for the first time next week on phase 2. So far the advice i have been given is to fish corn/ caster and give the catmeat a go if it is warm enough. Do any of you have any other info? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks

Okay Nutt, I have a limited knowledge on P.2 but Carpmagic should be able to help you. We need to know the pools though because some fish differently to others, therefore the approach will be different.

Keep your fingers crossed for Crater or Reptile - as Gary says the pools fish differently and are stocked differently. I fished Crater last Friday - wanted peg 14 but got beat to it so fished peg 6. Fished pole off the end of the island overdepth at 3feet and laid on with double hair rigged corn (They would'nt touch single) on a PR27 18. Took 4 carp all around the 6 pound mark, and a 4pound barbel that I did;nt see for 15 minutes. Peg 14 was alive with fish but the guy could'nt land them - he must have lost a dozen good fish. Reptile is peggy but is producing good bags. Enjoy!!!

We fished last year (crater or lagoon? first 1 on left) and had a good day on the silvers, decent size when we got them going, Carp showed up late. Fished 2 lines on pole (in and out)(6m and 11m). Really finicky bites though so I used a finer set up than normal (0.11 to 18's & 20'S) OK if the Carp are not too big

Well, after all my attempts to gather info, turned up at the draw to find out that it had been moved to phase 3. Drew peg 3 on Thames, got soaking wet and weighed in 13 - 12. There were a few 20lb weights, don't know how many as i was too eager to get home and dry out . Still it beats being at work
