At the moment The Horns is closed for pleasure sessions until March 1st but there is the odd flier on sundays. I,d enjoy giving you info on the place but until the 1st round of the Supercup is fished thats not possible as any info posted on this site may benefit a certain match group and a certain social club. ;D ;D.
P.S Phone Kev Boam on 01889/576697 for sunday morning open match dates.
I won it last sunday on popped up walnuts and glass hooks

cheers dorsal mate. I will give you a shout i n march then. I fished it a few times last year on pegs 9 and 25 but want to start fishing it more regularly this year. If you don't wish to post tactics etc over the net in march i will give you my email Addy so the info will be kept between me and you. I'm from no club etc so the info will be use against you in any matches mate .

O.K si. Fished the first round of the supercup today on the horns and won it, so i guess its o.k to give you some information now. At this time of year pellet and joker are fishing well for roach and skimmers on most pegs, the waters clear now so fishing close on the shallows is out of the question. In the deeps even in the coldest weather the carp are havin it "ice free water permitting", on the lead and corn if you,re so inclined to sit on your hands. As the temperatures pick up the carp will move up the shelf out of the deeps and break up a little and a little rise in water temp should see a lot more tench and bream caught. Its a good idea to have a variety of baits although you dont need a lot, e.g dead red maggot, pinkie, pellet, corn. The method fishes well in the summer but they wont be wanting the groundbait for some time.

i have to agree with you Alan about having no success with cat meat. I have only had any success with expander pellet, corn or Maggy all fished over slop or micro pellet. Dorsal replied to an earlier post of mine and he listed baits and never mentioned cat meat.

Trust your instincts guys and trust me when i say i used some catmeat once purely out of desperation and i hadn,t got out else ta give em, and i managed to scrape a couple of fish together on it.
