I've got a match coming up in May at Pool Farm? near Bridgenorth. I thought it was Pool Hall ?, which I have fished a couple of times before, as it is supposed to be at Alveley. So I'm not sure now as I have not been given the full information on which "pool" we are fishing . Any info on baits and/or methods etc. @ either venue would be welcome. cheers Eric

Thanks Frank, that is the one I thought it was but seems to be a bit of confusion about it. Any info on it would be welcome , I know going back a few years it was a good Tench venue but that had mostly changed last time I was there.

The carp have got a bit bigger now and seem to push the tench aside but if you get them coming you can still compete.Try and find which pool and I will see what info I can get

Hi Echo Romeo, minimum 8 tins corn 4 macaroni has been the bait but its geting warmer now meat has been having them up in the water, but not to full effect yet maccy in margins late on, as your match is in May take at least 4 cans Plumrose 1/4 cubes placed in water 8 cans corn. There is one guy who uses nothing else but corn (pole and waggler) and frames regular. The breakfast is good. Good Luck , tight lines from Willi from Kiddy

Well, the match went OK really. 2 pegs on the point finished 1st and 5th with 48lb and 24lb. Second place was on the left hand bank with 40lb, third at the far end somewhere with 30lb and I was 4th with 25lb on peg 52. Ended up trying the corn and macaroni on the inside, up and down the shelf, did not get a bite . My fish were split 50% / 50% between choppy and caster @ 11 metres and caster fished shallow 3m to hand for silvers (as you do when nothing else seems to be working).

The pegs on the point always fish well Eric. Mind you 52 ain't bad. I'd even fancy madforit to catch a few off that one. ;D ;D ;D ;D.
