Hi Guys i have a match here soon cant remember the dates i think june we are fishing the small pool, i have been told to fish slop with pellet then someone else says pellet on the hook and feed, well anyone any ideas as i dont want to go putting slop in to find out it was wrong as i cant take it out when its gone in, also what am i likey to catch , i guess its carp but what sort of size am i to expect, cheer

Polemaster is the guy you want for this one, besides carp there are some reasonable skimmers and bream, slop will bring them up in the water which is where they might want to be come June. I am sure that Polemaster will give you better info when hes on line.

i fish the opens there on a saturday and at the moment there is not much to choose between the maggot and the pellet, but as soon as it gets a bit warmer i would suggest a 4mm expander on the hook and feed the fisherys own pellet over the top. i also had some success on paste last year. They are mainly stockies between 1lb and 2lb but there is a fair head of bigger carp to 10lb that will show down the margins
