Fished there last week on Phesant - fished really hard, I could only catch up in the water. Even the Mossella guys fishing Heron struggled.
Normally you can do big weights down the side on corn or cat meat (so i'm told).

We usually have our club matches on heron mormally need lbs100 plus to win, maccaroni cheese on the hook just off the first shelf usually 3 sections of pole is one method, others are tight down the sides using there feed pellets which you can make into a paste or cat meat if they still allow it
some of our members use popped up bread near to the islands even though its shallow bread must be under the surface

maggots use top 2 or 3 in front of u keep feeding u cant go wrong
