Got a match here in a couple of weeks, we've got the House Pool, which is the first one you see when you enter the fishery.
Anyone got any info, baits, tactics, as none of us have ever fished it.
Ta, John.

Hope somebody with better and more up to date information can add to this...but usually fish are caught close up to four metres and 'up in the water'. Many fish with just the top two sections, to the margins and in front of you. F1's (lots of them) are your target fish with a fish a chuck if you can get them going. Look to feed at least two swims and keep alternating with a couple of fish from each swim. Pellet or small meat on the hook with a slop feed is popular. But I see from a recent article that shallow paste is being used. The pool has a lot of features with islands etc. Against these features you may find some big lumps to corn but I dont believe these are targeted on most pegs during matches. Some of the pegs are not wide at all and you may want to try a frar bank feature being only a few metres across but the pegs vary so much. Just depends on your draw. Depth wise varies with 3-4 feet on some pegs but double that at the dam end (nearest the shop/cafe). In this weather though, they should end up shallow to catch. Fish reasonably light (0.12 to 0.14 at the most) and 16 hooks or thereabouts. Floats used are more often very light with 3 no 8's shotted with no 13's. Feed pellets are tunnel barn's own and micro's are popular with a 4mm pellet on the hook. These are often fished with very sloppy groundbait. Very popular pegs are 29 to 34 which are on an island accessed by a bridge, or else the low numbers. You can bag up though from almost anywhere. Some use maggot and casters etc which are also succesful but I think are more popular during winter. (anyway, pellet/ paste/meat are cheaper and just as good if not better here. Give the place a phone call as they're always helpful. Pete Rice, one of those who work there (and wins a lot of the matches) will usually put youn right as to what's popular at the moment.
