I am there Sunday on a club match. It will be rock hard! 8lb odd won the open the other week. It is certainly not a bag up venue but if you catch the right peg on the right day you will catch some real specimens. Crucians to 4lb 4oz & tench to over 9lb. There is also a small head of skimmers & carp in Richardson, which also happens to have a larger head of fish. Harris is very similar but with a smaller head of larger fish but without the skimmers & carp. There are perch, rudd & roach in both lakes and very well worth targetting for good section points while waiting for a lump to come along. The contours are very canalike and one line must be just over the near shelf where the tench and crucian seem to patrol. Some chuck a feed er to the islands and catch but I certainly would not base my match around this approach. Baits would be worm, caster, maggot, pellet, corn. Swimstim groundbait seems favourite at the moment. Depths up to 5 ft in places but the water level was low last time I was there that I actually sat on my box in shallow water about 6ft from the bank!
HTH I will have more info after Sunday. SOme of our lads are so looking forward to it the are fishing the Surrey disabled match on Sat as well(NOT!)

Well the match went OK for me as I won with 11-11. As you can see not blinding weights but there were no dry nets. We were on Harris permanent pegs 23 - 36 which is on the far side with your back to the railway line. I caught pretty much as explained by Greg below except I had 3 crucians about 2lb a piece on paste along with some small tench (8-10oz jobbies) a few roach and one solitary perch. One thing I will say is the small fush have got bigger. It was a very odd day that came in fits and starts and I had to keep ringing the changes to keep a sort of mementum going. I was a bit naughty as I went for a **** or bust approach looking for larger fish. My mate on the next peg fished chop & caster most of the day for 4-10. He fished 2 lines 1 at the bottom of the near shelf and another at 11-12m. He did however lose a couple of tench on the near line. The guy the other side fished the waggler all day for 6-05 of nearly all roach, he reckoned he lost 12lb but he says that every match so I tend to ignore him! I used green swimstim groundbait and they did seem to respond to this as a couple of times my peg resembled Scone in the bath. I never had a touch on pellet but one of the guys who was second caught all his fish on pellet at around 11-12m.
There was the Surrey Disabled match on Richardson yesterday and a big 8lb won with another 8 second a 7 and a couple of sixes. Mostly skimmers with a big tench thrown in.
Hope that helps
Pete
