I've spoken to Gary today via Pm with regard to team selection for those legs were we are oversubscribed in terms of number's.
He has agreed that names will be drawn from a hat therefore giving everybody a chance of fishing for the team . I beleive this draw will take place shortly after the 28th Feb. Therfore it would be a courtesey for those who have asked to fish to keep their fishing diaries free until the squad is announced. With this in mind selection of the team captain will be made when the team is confirmed.
I know at Lindholme there is provision being made for the reserve anglers to fish on the day without scoring team points. I do not know if Heronbrook can also offer the reserves the same provision .
Looking at the various threads as of today we will be oversubscribed in the Midlands / North but still requiire angler's to make up a squad of ten for the other three legs.
Payment details are still a mystery to me for any of the legs . I'm sure Stu will inform us for the Midlands but any info regarding the other legs would be welcome.
Cheers
Paulscatt.

Once our team for the Midlands leg is finalised, I will PM my details to those fishing so that they can send their entry fees to me.
I will be expecting the captains of the other 3 teams to sort things at their end and send me a cheque to cover the whole of each team. Our captain(s) will probably have to do the same for the "away" legs.
As soon as I know more I will let you all know.
Cheers, Stu

Feel you must sort this sooner than later Paul...the courtesey i feel would be for those not in the 'out of the hat' squad to be able to make other arrangements. How far over subscribed do you want the matches to be before you sort the team?
This also brings another problem for the four of us who have booked on the North, South, and West matches. Because of travelling and accommodation arrangements if just one of us were not selected it would apply to the four.
If done sooner then we could concentrate on perhaps an Eastern leg that we could fish for any side ...but at least be fishing.
I assure you this is not a chest beating excersise...and with the greatest respect , it is just four anglers who have to make solid arrangements to travel/stay and fish that cannot be scuppered by a random hat draw.
Cheers Ted

With four commited as with Ted and friends Personally I would be inclined to build/draw the team around the four

Thanks very much for that mate.... but thats honestly not what i meant.
I was just explaining ...the best way i could... that drawing out one of us meant ...all four. This would give a chance for others to fish. But an early decision may give us the chance to get in elsewhere.

I dont think its a good practice to have reserve anglers or second teams fishing in between what is a serious match, yes I know about the banter etc but we will all be going to win our section etc , I have seen on another site where they think they could fill 3 teams, not on (a) it puts additional pressure on a water, (b) think of the accusations that could be put forward if their A team is pegged between their two non points scoring team. Fine if non competing anglers can be accomodated on a seperate pool or bank, but if it becomes a free for all it may be better to run it as another intersite open. Whilst I no longer get upset or frustated if I dont win it is different when it comes to fishing a team match.

Like said in the other thread (Northern intersite) I'm not sure if I can make the Northern match. So when the draw is made for this, please don't include my name. I'm would like to be put on the reserve list though.
cheers John.

If you intend to wait another 4 - 5 weeks to raffle places off for this match then its best you remove us from the North Intersite list please. We just want to meet up and fish, with T/A or any team available on the day. I have always looked on these events as encouraging people from different sites and areas....who obviously are singing off the same hymn sheet...to meet and fish together. We should look to try to accommodate all if we can...as is the case with many venues chosen...not draw people out. However at least with us removed from the North match it will at least open up four more places hopefully removing the 'selection' process for T/A for that event. I doubt the the process will come into play for the South and West matches.
All the very best to those fishing Lindholme - a good complex with some quality fishing - and we still hope to see you there.
