hi guys Results from the 3rd leg of the Whacker Baits winter league 01/29/06 A full night of heavy rain made the conditions a little diffucult today on the chicago river...the levels were up almost 12 inches high than normal ,really coloured and it was really pulling thru..... .....5 anglers fished and there was still some carp to be caught....we fished from 10 30 till 1 45 ....it was overcast ,temps in the high 40's and a few rain showers at the start....after fishing on the 8 mt pole for the first 30 mins with a 12 gram float and still not able to hold it back in the extra fast current i changed to a feeder on the pole and started to get some bites...i hooked into 6 fish and landed 3 for 22 lbs 8 ozs all on single corn and maggot on a size 14 hook....Paul Wells landed 1 fish and lost one on the pole at 7 mts and Paul Pezalla got one on the feeder....it was a pity we had such tough conditions as we also had a reporter from a chicago newspaper out with us today wanting to do an article about match fishing here in the USA and the quaility of the fishing in the river in the heart of the city ..... ....he was impressed by it and is going to come out again in the future when the weather is getting a little better Results 1st Dara F peg 6 22 lbs 8 ozs 2nd Paul Wells peg 5 11 lbs 4 ozs 3rd Paul Pezalla peg 2 6 lbs 12 ozs pics from todays match .... photobucket.com/albums/d136/irishangler/winter%20league%20leg%203%20jan%2029/
