Results from the 4th leg of the Whacker baits winter league 02/12/06
In what was the coldest day so far for us to fish a leg of the winter league the Chicago river still managed to offer up some fish for the 6 anglers who turned up for this match....Tempertures remained below freezing all day and the cold wind made it feel alot worse ....I found the mesh on my landing net frozen solid each time i went to use it... ...! The river had slowed down considerably since our last match but the strong cold breeze made conditions difficult at times....New comer to the match and friend of Paul Pezalla , Vladislav, done very well floatfishing with a 20ft rod to win the $$$ today with 47 lbs 10 ozs of carp (5 fish to 12lbs) on peg 3 ... .....and doubled the second place weight of 23lbs 1 oz (Dara, peg 7...3 carp and bluegills) caught on pellets and maggots with the pole....Paul Wells on peg 2 was third with 18 lbs 6 ozs (3 carp and bluegills) also caught on the pole ....Also a good number of fish were hooked but lost by everyone fishing today...The final leg of the series is on the 26th of feb at the same venue, draw at 8 30 am...we may fish a friendly match there next Sunday if the weather is ok....email me at daraconstruction@hotmail.com for draw time, directions, etc if your interested and want to reserve a peg
