My first experiance of fresh water fishing was a couple of weeks ago when i unexpectedly got pressed ganged into making up a team of 4 for a local match. I had only coarse fished once before and worst still had only started sea fishing this April but i was up for it even though i was terrrified i would look an idiot among all the other experianced anglers. It was freezing weather and i had been given a spot between two very expert anglers, however they were very friendly and i had been given my instuctions by my team members who very kindly organised all my rigs and bait!! My first cast bypassed the lake completely and had the two chaps either side of me looking very nervous. My next cast not so hard this time took out a duck amd it sank without trace, to my horror the chap next to me said in a very dry humour " You can't put that in your keep net lass" and everyone was laughing their heads off. It was a great day nevertheless and i have improved my casting now!!

We fished the Intersite series earlier this year beemondo against other fishing sites. Anyway a lady angler from another team joined the TA team for a practice @ Woodlands Thirsk. She was a novice match angler but had pleasure /speci fished for a short while. She managed to hook the areator in the middle of the lake. Would been a cracking weight if she could have weighed it in . Maybe u should get a pole u can wave that in the face of ur rivals .... more accurate than a flying lead ;D ;D ;D ;D

well i went fly fishing yesterday and caught a beautiful 3lb 10oz trout not bad for my first time. It took ages to get the casting right and my friend Steve who was showing me how to fish stood some distance away!! I am a bit confused about the 2 fish - 3 fish policy that the lake has, my question is if you pay for a 2 fish ticket and you catch them within 30 mintues what do you do the rest of the day!!My husband Bob was impressed with the fish but he remarked that it was an expensive fish for £20 I told him to shut up and eat!

If u catch within the first couple of mins ... put it back. The 2 fish limit refer's to the No. of fish that u can retain. Not all fisheries would approve of this but paying for 30 mins sport ain't on IMO. Problem is what happens if u blank for the rest of the session .....
