just a big thanks and to say i have enjoyed the banter with all, i would be grateful if you could tell me of any other sites out there as i am sure other people who use talk angling will put posts on other sites and give valuable info
It's a sad day when ANY angling site closes up but when it's one of the oldest sites around it's especially sad.
Although i've not posted much for the past 12 to 18 months i still visited most days and would like to say A BIG THANKYOU to all the TA lads that i've met over the years and to those that i have not met but have helped me via the forum.
Also thanks for putting up with THE JINX over the years
All the best to you Gary and i wish you well for the future.
Do i get a refund on my coat and hat Gary.............just taking piss for last time i joined talkangling in Sept 2001 will miss it ...it has really been the only site i paid allegence to...i will wear my logos with more pride than ever now..nice one Gary
probably the best wind up merchant in the Midlands
A few of you will know of my involvement with another site, which gives me some appreciation of the time and effort, not to mention money that a site such as this one takes to run, but having been a member on here since 2003, although not a huge contributor, it gives me no pleasure whatsoever to see TalkAngling close.
Just like to say a big THANK YOU to Gary & Paul and all the mods on here for their efforts over the years.. Doubtless we'll see each other on other boards in the future.
What can I say do know I for one will miss it and all the blokes on here, great bunch one and all. Keep in touch and hope we all meet up again soon. Anyone who wants to keep in touch email their addy lots are hidden. Thanks Gary for having me hope to see you about soon (not in a official capacity I hope)
Can't remember when I first joined but its certainly a few years back 5? 6? , (ERICTHEVIK, EJAYAR, EJAYAR17, echoromeo etc. etc.), but the site has retained my interest for all that time. I remember before that sharing posts with Chavander, Leon Roskilly and who was that other chap that ran the original AnglersNet? Ah...............reminisce
Chavander made an excellent point earlier about posts, that often what you were going to reply, or advice that you were going to give, has already been posted.
From my point of view rather than a post for postings sake, I often just read and "lurked" but still got great satisfaction from my visit knowing that I was on the right track
I've just logged on at work as my home PC is poorly I can only echo the comments already made and thank everyone who has made using this site so pleasurable. It has been stated that this is one of the oldest internet sites and has such a huge amount of posts have been made, covering virtually every subject and many new posts have gone with little or no response because it's all been done before in TA's vast archive. Many thanks Gary, look forward to seeing you on the bank & all the best to everyone who has participated in this fine forum
