Why are the words 'ALL OUT' so difficult to hear at the end of a match? Time after time I see people fishing on for an extra 30 seconds to a minute after the all out, trying to snare that last fish, out and out cheating in my book. The same people have no trouble hearing 'ALL IN'

We had a bloke yesterday who started fishing as soon as he had set up! 30mins before the whistle. He then wandered down to me and asked if I would end the match 75 mins early as he had a train to catch! Needless to say he was advised of the error of his ways by the guy on the next peg

Yes but we have all seen it, I believe its just the competative nature of the game... i.e. everyone hears the all out at the same time but nobody wants to be first out - do you see what I mean
Mind you if I ever saw anybody do it deliberately and strike into a fish there would be some right greif dished out I can assure you!

It's "selective hearing syndrome" or "cheating" to give it its proper name

IMHO there is a bigger problem with people fishing out of their pegs these days, especially on commercials with people fishing over half way - the number of times I have nearly gotten into fights with people opposite is incredible!

and lets not forget about the tricks before "all in" casting the feeder 20times trying to find the range in flat open water ....hoping to draw a few fish to the noise!!!!!!
Casting the feeder before the all in is definately a no-no.
Too right Royst, I lose too many feeders during a match without lobbing a few extras in beforehand

What about when you need to get the distance to clip up. I have done it with a bomb before and ended up short with a feeder. Especially when up against a feature.

Sorry should have added that I agree when the all out is called the angler should retrieve their bait immediately.

kASHBY , It is a problem with the different weights but at least with the bomb you will drop short but be nearly right, just a case of fine tuning it then at the all in. Similar thing when dotting a pole rig down before the all in, when you add the bait after the whistle the rig can behave a bit different, specially with a bit of undertow.

cheating if you want to call it that has always gone on. I have run to many matches and seen so many ways . but in my opinion its never gonna be stopped. just the fact that they need to cheat says it all . i also think that rumors of cheating can do more harm usually because an angler keeps winning or drawing same peg he is cheating....no one ever gives them credit for being a good angler some anglers are natural and can get a result from anywhere
