Perhaps I should have posted this earlier, then the latest commotion would not have followed.
Anyway we need a few guidelines for TA get togethers, whether it be a friendly knock up or serious event.
When the arguments were on going over the Heronbrook Spring league, all the moderators had a chin wag to try and sort things, to try and stop the same issues happening again. Poor old POLEPOT had a lot of grief trying to run the series and it shouldn't have been the case.
Anyway, lets us try and sort things for the future.
Here are the rules, in no way are they comprehensive or written in stone, just a bit of courtesy and common sense is all that is needed. (Explanations for each rule is given below)
Rules:
1. ALL matches no matter where or what, to be cleared through Paul Scatt.
2. Team event: All names into hat and as Carpmagic has already said, worst result(s) to make way for others who want to fish.
3. Team captains to vary each Round.
4. Individual matches to be paid for up front.
Explanations:
1. Paul is the TA match organiser, has been for some time. He has already organised a number of matches for TA this year. They are on the calendar. I do not have a problem with anyone organising a match so long as Scatty has cleared it. Why? He may have a match planned already or already considering a get together. This just ensures there are no clashes. As they say too many cooks. . . . . . . .
Also, we only want TA members to fish matches organised through TA because if non memebrs fish and cause problems it can lead to us being banned from a venue, even though it wasn't our fault. By having a dedicated Match organiser, that person controls things. Last year I received a complaint that a TA member had mishandled fish at a weigh in and a number of fish were found belly up the next morning. The blame was solely at our door and we were being threatened with civil action, never mind being banned from the venue. The matter was sorted, but only when it was shown that it wasn't a TA member who had been reported. Never the less if we had not controlled the match properly we would not have been able to sort things.
2. Self explanatory, everyone gets a chance to fish.
3. See rule 2.
4. No-one is out of pocket and matches can be booked when entry fees have been paid.
If anyone has any comments then please feel free to let me know.
